On September 11th, the Electrical and Electronic Telecommunication Engineering Sectional Committee (EETESE) organized an informative session at the Wimalasurendra Auditorium (IESL) featuring Professor Ahmed Abu-Siada, Discipline Lead of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Curtin University, Australia.

The session focused on Condition Monitoring, Asset Management, and Fault Diagnosis of Power Transformers. Professor Abu-Siada, a recognized expert in the field, delved into the powerful technique of Frequency Response Analysis (FRA). He discussed its fundamentals and its effectiveness in detecting early signs of insulation degradation, winding faults, and other internal issues in power transformers.

This event provided a valuable opportunity for attendees to enhance their understanding of advanced transformer diagnostics, fostering deeper insights into asset management in the electrical engineering sector.
