Advances in electronic communication, the Internet of Things (IoT), renewable energy, and smart technologies are driving demand for skilled electrical and computer engineers worldwide. At Curtin University Colombo, this internationally recognised degree equips you with the knowledge and practical experience to thrive in this rapidly evolving field.

You’ll gain a strong foundation in the core principles of electrical and electronic engineering, with the opportunity to specialise in one of three key areas:

  • Electronics and Communications – advancing digital systems and connectivity
  • Power Systems – designing and managing energy networks, including renewable solutions
  • Embedded Systems – integrating hardware and software for intelligent devices

The course also offers flexibility to explore additional specialisations, allowing you to either deepen your expertise in electrical and computer engineering or broaden your skills across other disciplines.

In your final year, you’ll bring together your technical knowledge, design ability, and project management skills to complete a major research project tackling a real-world engineering challenge. You’ll also undertake 12 weeks of professional practice, ensuring you graduate career-ready with industry experience.

English entry requirements

A minimum of a C grade in GCE O-Level English; or a GCE A-Level General English is required. Sri Lankan O-Level and A-Level English results must have been issued within five years of the application date to Curtin University Colombo.

OR

A minimum of any one of the accepted English proficiency tests as specified in the table below. The test must have been undertaken within two years of application to study at Curtin.
